Eaton Square, Belgravia, London

LIVING IN EATON SQUARE

Eaton Square lies at the heart of exclusive Belgravia, a superb and discrete location bordered by Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Buckingham Palace, Pimlico, and Hyde Park.  Eaton Square is London’s prime residential garden square and provides the best of London: contemporary living in classical settings, with dedicated on-site support from Grosvenor.

Eaton Square is in fact an elongated oblong, arranged around six private gardens.  The imposing but elegant buildings are terraced in a classical style, stucco fronted, with many pretty mews stretching behind the houses.

Properties in Eaton Square are generously proportioned.  Some houses remain undivided, but many have been converted into apartments, maisonettes or duplexes, the majority of which run laterally across the original frontages.

Internationally renowned Eaton Square is leafy and residential, and close to the best that London has to offer.  Eaton Square is well served locally by superb amenities, restaurants and shopping in the neighbouring streets.

The private communal gardens, reserved for exclusive use by residents, are a place to relax in and enjoy.  The south central garden contains an all weather tennis court, while one other garden is always reserved for dog walking.

In summer, the gardens of Eaton Square are opened up as part of the traditional London Gardens Open Day, which sees many of the capital’s private gardens made accessible to the public.  The annual Residents’ Garden Party on the beautifully manicured lawns is an opportunity for that quintessential combination of sunshine, champagne and classical music.

Many famous people have lived on Eaton Square, reflecting its long-standing attraction and historical location. Blue plaques commemorate some of these residents, including Neville Chamberlain, Stanley Baldwin, George Peabody, the 1st Earl of Halifax, and Vivien Leigh.

St Peter’s Church is a distinctive building on the east of Eaton Square. As well as a place of worship, it holds a series of classical music concerts in spring and autumn.  The church also makes its excellent facilities available for a wide range of social, educational, charitable, cultural and commercial activities.
